Is it Spring yet?

I forgot on Sunday that it is still January. It was such a gorgeous day! 76 and sunny! I was quickly reminded Monday that yes, it is still January when I was pumping gas and the temperature was in the 20's with 25 mph winds.  I realize my friends and family in Indiana wish it was in the 20's there but I'm in Texas, it's supposed to be warmer here!

I'm so ready for Spring weather! I'm ready to go for nice long walks (or runs, maybe) after work, push the kids in their swings, and just play outside! Now that both Harper and Keegan are walking, we can actually play in the backyard.  I wasn't a fan of this when they were crawling because I was sure they would crawl right into a nice pile of dog poop.  I'm sure this is still going to happen at some point but hopefully they'll just step in it instead of putting their hands in it.  Wishful thinking I'm sure.

We had such a fun time playing in the backyard that afternoon.  Squeegee was nice enough to share all of his clean gross toys with them. I'm thinking we need to get some non-slobber covered outside toys although they'll probably still play with Squeegee's slobbery/gross tennis balls.

Hurry up Spring! We're ready for you!

15 Month Update

The kiddos turned 15 months on Saturday, January 18. They are starting to be less babyish all the time and more like little toddlers.  This makes me so sad but excited at the same time!

They had their checkup on Monday, January 20.  Besides the shots, they did pretty well considering they had to completely skip their morning naps!  Harper took a 3 1/2 hour nap that afternoon and Keegan took a 4 hour nap!! Craig wasn't able to make it to the checkup so Nanny Olivia came along to help! It was nice having her with us to help out! I don't think it would have been very fun by myself during shots.

Keegan

Weight: 22 lbs 10 oz (25th percentile)
Height: 32 in (75th percentile)
Head: 42 cm (5th percentile) - This seems crazy to me because his head seems huge!  I can't imagine what it would look like even if he was in the 10th percentile!
Teeth: 10 (plus 3 starting to peek through)
Words He Says: Boo (as in Peek-a-boo), ba (ball), Mom
Favorite Foods: Gerber Lil' Crunchies, Yogurt Melts, Steamed Broccoli, Meat (Ground Beef, Sausage, Chicken), Crockpot Italian Chicken

Oh Keegan, he just makes me smile! It is so hard to tell him "No!" because he gives that big goofy smile and I just melt!  He is so smiley and always has been!  While he is typically super happy, the boy has such a temper.  He can throw a tantrum with the best of them! If Harper takes a toy from him, prepare for a complete melt down. He also likes to hit Harper which is not very fun.

The biggest update is that he is finally walking!! I was starting to think he was never going to but he is officially walking!!  It seemed like it happened overnight.

Harper

Weight: 21 lbs 2 oz (25th percentile)
Height: 31.5 in (75th percentile)
Head: 42 cm (25th percentile)
Teeth: 12 including 4 molars which all came through at the same time!
Words She Says: Boo (as in Peek-a-boo), Momma, Dada, Ni-Ni (Night Night), Up, book, and Olivia is working on her saying "Nanny" :)
Favorite Foods: Yogurt Melts, Mandarin Oranges, Crockpot Italian Chicken, Lasagna, Stuffed Broccoli Chicken

Harper has the sweetest little personality!  She is becoming less high maintenance which is a nice change of pace. She loves playing peek-a-boo and is constantly walking around with a blanket over her head or hiding behind a piece of furniture so she can pop out and say, "Boo!"

I'm so thankful Keegan is walking now because it seems like Harper is running everywhere!  She is so fast! I can barely keep up with her now!

Each month keeps getting more and more fun!  I can't wait for them to start expanding their vocabulary and getting even more adventurous!

Ringing in the New Year

Something I'd like to get better at is using my "big girl" camera.  I am always taking pictures on my iPhone but never think to get my actual camera out.  Since I hadn't put everything away yet on New Year's Eve, I saw my camera sitting on the counter and decided to actually use it for once!

Craig was bagging up the thousands of leaves from our two trees in our backyard (seriously, who knew two trees had so many leaves on them?!) and the kids stood at the back door and watched him for at least 20 minutes.  Lots of time for Momma to take pictures! :)

Harper squats like this all the time.  Future softball catcher?

Show me your belly!

Since Mimi and Gramps don't get to see us very often, I try to FaceTime with them almost everyday.  Harper and Keegan know the sound of making a FaceTime call and come walking (or crawling) over.

Love.
New Year's Eve night was spent with Uncle Scott & Cousin Wyatt.  We did not feel like going anywhere since we were still exhausted from traveling so lucky for us, they came and stayed the night at our house!

It's so much fun to watch Harper & Keegan with Wyatt!  He is so sweet with them!

Harper & Keegan are not big on giving kisses but they kept trying to give Wyatt kisses all night.  So adorable!

Bedtime stories!

Caught red-handed

We loved having them over and had such a fun time!  Harper and Keegan kept saying after they left, "Come back soon Wyatt!  And bring cousin Aiden too!"
